ERP & CRM Integration in Nigeria: A Practical Guide

How ERP and CRM integration actually works for Nigerian businesses — when to connect rather than replace, what typically breaks, and how to scope the project.

Common ERP–CRM integration scenarios

  • ✓Syncing customer and account records so sales and finance see the same data
  • ✓Pushing closed-won deals from a CRM directly into ERP order or invoicing workflows
  • ✓Reflecting payment and delivery status from the ERP back into the CRM so sales has real-time visibility
  • ✓Connecting inventory or stock data from the ERP into a CRM-driven sales or quoting process
  • ✓Building a single reporting layer that pulls from both systems without manual export-and-merge

What to ask before an ERP–CRM integration project

1. Which system is the source of truth for which data? Customer records, pricing and order status often need one clearly defined owner to avoid the two systems drifting apart. 2. How often does data need to sync? Real-time integration is more complex and costly than a scheduled sync every few hours — many businesses don't actually need real-time. 3. What happens when a record conflicts? Ask how the integration resolves a case where the same customer or order was updated differently in both systems. 4. Does the integration survive an ERP or CRM upgrade? Vendor updates can change data structures or API behaviour. Ask how the integration is maintained over time. 5. Who has visibility when something breaks? A silent sync failure can go unnoticed for weeks. Ask for monitoring and alerting, not just a one-time build. 6. Is this a one-off project or an ongoing relationship? ERP–CRM integrations need occasional maintenance as both systems evolve — clarify support terms upfront.

How much does ERP–CRM integration cost in Nigeria?

Cost depends on which ERP and CRM platforms are involved, how well-documented their APIs are, whether the sync needs to run in real time, how many data objects (customers, orders, invoices, inventory) are in scope, and how much error-handling and monitoring the business needs for confidence in production. A single well-documented sync between two modern cloud platforms is a much smaller project than integrating an older, on-premise ERP with no native API.

When integration beats replacement

If your ERP or CRM already does its core job reasonably well, replacing either system is rarely the fastest or cheapest way to fix a data-silo problem — connecting them usually is. See our API and systems integration guide for the broader integration picture, or our digital transformation and systems integration guide if the real question is which systems across the business should be consolidated first.

Why Avant Tech Nigeria is different

Our integration work is shaped by running Avant One, the wider Avant Tech group's own multi-tenant customer-operations platform, where case management, engagement and collections share live customer context across systems — the same architecture discipline and NDPA-aware data handling we bring to a client ERP–CRM integration.
