What should the integration support?
A useful verification layer should allow the calling application to submit the required customer data, receive a structured result, track non-instant cases and preserve an audit trail. The exact checks depend on the lawful use case and permissions and may include identity sources such as NIN or BVN alongside address and other verification services.
Not every check is instant
Digital identity checks may return quickly when the relevant source is available. Employment, education, physical address and other source-dependent checks cannot responsibly be represented as universally instant.
The customer experience is better when the product distinguishes synchronous results from asynchronous cases and lets the onboarding flow continue appropriately rather than leaving the user on a loading screen.
Design the exception path before the happy path
Before integration, decide:
- ✓what happens when a result is inconclusive;
- ✓whether the customer can correct submitted information;
- ✓which cases require manual or field review;
- ✓how status changes return to the originating application;
- ✓what evidence is retained for audit and support;
- ✓how duplicate requests and retries are handled.
These decisions determine whether verification becomes a scalable product capability or another operational queue.
Portal, batch or API?
Use the portal for lower-volume teams that need a managed interface, batch submission for recurring volume without a full integration, and the Verification API when checks need to be embedded directly into onboarding or another business workflow.
Explore the Avant Tech Verification API or review the broader background-check capability.
From KYC to operational workflow
Some programmes need more than an API call. Avant Tech can combine verification with custom workflow development where a bank, lender or enterprise needs orchestration, dashboards, exception queues or integration into existing systems.
Evaluating an integration?
Bring the intended customer journey, expected volume, required checks and exception rules. We can map the integration around the experience you want customers and operations teams to have.
